Lesson 1.7: Practice Essay Writing
This lesson introduces students the long-essay question (LEQ) portion of the exam. The teacher guides students through the process of understanding the prompt, brainstorming and constructing a thesis and context paragraph. Then students review a model body paragraph. Finally, students independently write a second body paragraph, using the model body pargraph as an example. This scaffolded approach gives all students opportunities to understand and apply historical thinking and argumentation skills.
